Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Kim Powell is an American singer-songwriter living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico blending sounds of R&B, Americana, Pop and Rock to create her own sultry alternative sound. Powell graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and has a deep love of painting and acting as well as music.

Powell has completed her second album release titled, Get it Right. Get it Right was recorded in a casita (small house) in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with versatile, multi-instrumentalist, producer, Billy White as the only other player on the record. "It was such a thrill to work with Billy again and with every tune simply try to find that magical place that only happens when you really let go," says Powell.

Powell has been a featured artist in Women Who Rock magazine and El Petit Journal (Mexico). Her song "Cold Hands Warm Heart" from her debut release, Truth is Invisible won her a Semi-Finalist rank in the international songwriting competition, ISC. Powell has played various prestigious festivals such as CMJ, SXSW, Rocker Girl and toured both coasts in the U.S with former bands. A song that she recorded with former Columbia recording artist, Brenda Kahn enjoyed a live video streaming spot on SPIN.com. One of the highlights of her musical career was when her sensational five member all girl band Morningwood was chosen from hundreds of applicants to play the MTV Sports & Music Festival in Austin, Texas along side of big known bands like Everclear and Wu-Tang Clan and were featured on MTV's "Indie Outings." Powell enjoyed airplay in various cities in the U.S. and has acquired fans all over the globe including, Argentina, Europe and China with her debut release, Truth is Invisible. An early version of her song, "The Alchemist" has been rotating on Access Hollywood for more than a year. She is actively working to place songs for Film and Television and also on compilation CD's. The making of a music video is also in her immediate plans.

With the release of Get it Right, Powell says, "My hope is that listeners get some kind of emotional comfort from the songs and they can really feel an intimacy. All those songs from growing up you listened to on the radio that seemed to speak of exactly what you were going through.....when folks feel that from my songs it is pure, perfection."
